Campus, community reacts to rising gas prices - Lindsey Blakely, Arkansas State Herald

With oil prices climbing to more than $104 a barrel, drivers are feeling the sting of prices rising more than 40 cents within the past month. ASU students aren't immune. Luke Hansen, a sophomore exercise science major of Jonesboro, said there are alternatives to the rising gas prices. "Our government does not do enough when it comes to exploring fuel alternatives," Hansen said. "I know it can be done because my friend can run his diesel truck for a whole semester on used cooking oil. He spends maybe $20 on diesel warming the truck up before switching over to the oil."
