Avoid the pump - RamCigar (University of Rhode Island)

According to the AAA website, gasoline prices in Rhode Island are up 41 cents since the beginning of 2011. The current state average price of $3.56 per gallon is 78 cents higher than it was at this time last year. This puts an even bigger dent in the wallets of University of Rhode Island students, especially commuters. Ask any students what his or her biggest expense is and the answer will probably be gas or groceries. Both are essential to survival, but a pain to pay for every week. Especially at this time in the school year, when many students' summer savings are waning to low numbers, Rhode Island gas prices do not encourage traveling.
