Skyrocketing gas prices have affected us all, but have hit commuter students particularly hard. The Farmingdale Student Government has responded by offering half price gas vouchers for sale. Students purchase the vouchers for $10 through the Axillary Service Cooperation in Laffin Hall, and receive $20 worth of Exxon-Mobil gift cards, which can be redeemed at most Exxon or Mobil stations. The program has seen immediate success, with gas vouchers selling quickly. Although members of the Farmingdale Student Government have admitted that the move is somewhat political in nature, meant somewhat to ensure that incumbents achieve reelection in this year's elections, students seem not to care. The gas voucher program will continue until the program runs out of funding, and may be renewed if the FSG decides to refund the program.
